What do we actually do?

THE GIRLS REFUGE

The Girls Refuge offers short term, crisis accommodation in a safe, home-like environment for girls aged 13 to 17 years who are going through a difficult time and are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Girls Refuge has been operating for over 40 years and was one of the first youth refuges in NSW.  LEARN MORE. 

Skinterest has helped The Girls Refuge make events like Christmas and Easter as special as possible for the girls in their care.

THE ENCORESHIP

Did you know:

  • Despite having a higher degree of educational attainment women earn 14.1% less than male postgraduate graduates?
  • Women make up only 38.4% of Australia’s full-time employees? 
  • Women account for only 19.4% of Australian CEO roles? 
  • Women have 23.4% less superannuation than men at retirement age?

The Encoreship is an initiative created by Alpha-H skincare to provide employment opportunities for women returning to the workforce.

Keeping women in the workforce and enabling those who want to work is key to minimising gender inequality and increasing female financial independence and economic security.

In 2023 skinterest offered 2 roles with The Encoreship. We are delighted to partner with like-minded organisations dedicated to making the world better for women. LEARN MORE.

WHAT ELSE?

 skinterest also believes that change begins at home so in addition to supporting the above causes:

  • The skinterest office and laboratory is solar powered and uses recycled packaging and materials where possible
  • All our ingredients are acquired via transparent and ethical channels from like-minded suppliers
  • We stand against ingredient fearmongering, greenwashing and misinformation and are committed to using our blog to educate and inform
